You are right Chris.
However, I still have some problems with the FMS on descent and approach. Well, practice makes perfect (so they say.....)

You're very welcome, hope you enjoy it! The thing damn near broke me with it's insane texture mapping but I got there. Now I can actually enjoy flying it rather than pixel counting, it's so good to have a decent turboprop in MFS at last!

News / The ATR has arrived!
Last post by Chris Liu - May 18, 2023 00:17
Intercity Airways are proud to have taken delivery of our first ATR 42-600, from a total order for 26 aircraft.

The ATR 42-600 will progressively replace our venerable BAe Jetstream 41. These 29 seat British airliners first flew over 25 years ago and have been the backbone of our smaller airport operations for many years. The latest ATR will offer passengers a quieter and roomier cabin with 46 seats at 32" pitch (including 4 standard plus class seats), full size overhead stowage lockers and a larger baggage hold, whilst providing similar flight times. The latest avionic technology permits operations in lower visibility conditions reducing the need for diversions.

This follows similar moves by Loganair and Silver Airways, who are replacing their 30 seat Saab 340 aircraft with 48 seat ATR 42.

Pilots can download our paint scheme for the Microsoft S&H ATR 42 here; this is a high fidelity addon priced under $15 for the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator, available from the in-game marketplace. At this time no suitable freeware versions of the ATR 42 are available for MFS but we intend to support these if they become available, the situation is the same with Xplane 11 (the Carenado or LES Saab 340 makes a good substitute on XP although we haven't repainted these but ACARS permits them to be used). FSX users can continue flying the PMDG Jetstream 41.

We await further news regarding Q400 availability for MFS, unfortunately the ATR 72-600 is not a direct replacement as it's 60 KTAS slower so would require a complete rework of the schedules.

ATR 42-600 / SOP (Standard Operating Proced...

For non-aircraft specific SOP, please click here
Intercity Airways operating procedures are as outlined by the CAA, EASA, ICAO and airframe manufacturer documentation (such as the AOM, FCOM and FCTM), as applicable. On this page we only set out procedures that deviates from these sources or areas which they do not cover.

• Configured to seat 46 passengers (at 32" pitch, 4 abreast) operating with 3 crew (2 flight crew and 1 cabin crew).

• Engine start is not to be commenced until the aircraft is fully closed up. A GND PWR ON start should be performed for the first engine if a GPU is available to reduce wear on batteries (second engine can be cross started from the first)

• Use of hotel model is discouraged and only permitted when TAT exceeds 18'c or there is no GPU available and battery powered operations are expected to last over 45 minutes. Run time must be kept to the minimum required (when pre-cooling a heat soaked cabin increase thrust levers to control lock position to increase air flow to packs but reduce engine run time); use of external conditioned air is preferred to hotel mode for pre-cooling.

• Powerback is only to be practised where unavoidable and must be performed by the captain with the assistance of a marshaller. It is preferable to be pushed back if this can be obtained in a timely manner, or turn the aircraft around on the stand if there is sufficient room.

• If the anticipated taxi to the runway exceeds 5 minutes, a single engine taxi will be performed with engine 2 and then engine 1 started within 2 minutes of the runway (4 minutes if OAT <5'c). Do not single engine taxi on contaminated taxiways or when wind >12 kts.

Takeoff is always bleeds off;

• When taking off from contaminated runways, continuous ignition must be used and reduced torque takeoffs are not permitted.

Climb at ### KIAS

Cruise at ### KIAS. Flights 45-70 minutes should cruise at FL180-FL200

• After landing, a single engine taxi will be performed once engine 1 has had 120 seconds in ground idle and 30 seconds in feather to cool down, unless the taxiway is contaminated or when wind >12 kts.

News / FlyJSim Q4XP repaint
Last post by Chris Liu - May 10, 2023 15:59
With help from Ryan Badger we now have the FlyJSim's Q4XP Dash 8 Q400 repainted into Intercity colours for use with XPlane 11. Download these textures at http://viaintercity.com/forums/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=16

As we have now have this for XP11 I don't think we'll be providing texture for FlyJSim's legacy Q400 on XP10, but you are still welcome to use that model on your flights if you wish albeit in another paint job such as Bombardier house colours.

I'm in the process of painting the ATR 42-600, it's being officially added to the fleet. It will be operating the previous J41 sectors as the ATR is too slow to keep up Q400 timings.

HI Gert

Weve added the ATR to the whitelist for ACARS so you can fly it for now. Watch out for an announcement soon with regards to ICX ATRs  ;)
