EHAM weather is the Worst !!!!   >:(

I swear, if there is one thing I have learned flying for Intercity, it is to expect bad weather at EHAM.
(Ok, Intercity has given me a lot more then that  ;) )   But still, is there any place that Intercity flies to that
has such consistent bad weather.   Is it just me?

Flew from EGPH to EHAM in the A319.   Across the Channel was great given the 100 kt tail wind.  Swear the metar said
EHAM had few clouds and only a 10 kt wind.  100 miles out, I am mentally preparing to click off the auto pilot on
final and land her by hand.  Piece of cake (American saying  ;D )

Get there and find that winds are almost hitting 30 kts with gust, the visibility is horrid, and, and, its raining.... What?  :o
I should have autolanded... but disconnected at 500 msl.   It was rough but only a -333 touch down.
Taxing was quite interesting given the winds.

Or maybe I didn't do my homework on the forecast for EHAM?
Lol...

Actual weather yesterday for EHAM was winds between light / variable and 050/16 with vis >9500m

Don't know where your sim's getting its weather from.

It was a bit breezy around N. Europe the few days previously maybe you're getting old data?

Anyway, EHAM's not consistently bad weather in my experience and they have enough runways so you can usually land more or less into wind.

I would probably have gone for 24 given that wind you had there, but a 30 kt crosswind's good character-building stuff  :)

Autoland? That's for girls isn't it? ;D

Oppss...   :-[

Graham,
I realize now that ASN was in historical mode.  That is why the weather did not match the
metar I quickly checked on the internet. (using my phone).

But I still think EHAM weather tends to be bad   8)
And yes, 30 kt crosswind helps to build character!
