Thought you all might like a sneak peak of the new ACARS, this is the new flight search page!

EDIT: Image removed. Updated images posted further down this page.

Hey Chris looking good, dare I ask; when do you think it might hit the hard drives?

30th February :P In all seriousness ACARS v2 is feature complete and we're now testing so it depends entirely on if we find any bugs and how hard those are for Chris to fix. We're as keen as anyone to get it rolled out because ACARS v1 has been so troublesome lately, but we're also wary of frustrating people with problems we could have easily caught through testing.

All being well, I'd like to see it available to all pilots before the end of February but I would like to emphasise that is only an aim, not a guarantee or promise.

ACARS is on a track for release at the end of March or start of April, and it's getting a new look to go with the new code:

Chaps, I appreciate we're now in to April and I originally said we'd try to release ACARS2 by the end of February, so I feel we owe you an explanation. We were hoping to roll it out several days ago as our testers have been using ACARS2 for over a month now, with only a few minor issues that Chris has since fixed.

Unfortunately, Chris H was involved in a Road Traffic Collision during the weekend and is currently away from home recovering from the injuries he sustained, so ACARS2 will be delayed by a week or two, as we both want to ensure we have the capacity to deal with any issues that might arise during deployment.

Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt in the incident and I'm sure we're all wishing Chris a speedy recovery. I'd send him a card/flowers/chocolates but we're men and I'm tight.

Damn  :-\

Hope he has a quick and painless recovery  ;)

Bit of speed tape should do it  :)

Hope you're not badly hurt Chris and wish you a speedy recovery.

ACARS can wait.

Steve Prowse (1046)

Glad to hear that you weren't badly injured Chris...I wish you a speedy and full recovery.  Don't worry about ACARs, it can wait, the real world in much more important.  Take care.
