Title: The beauty of teamwork and flows (video)
Post by: Thomas Thomsen on Sep 03, 2014 00:18
Hello fellow pilots,

Flying any aircraft is an art form, and some say flying a multi-crew aircraft on your own in the sim, without much spatial awareness or physical response, is even more challenging than the real deal.

The thing I miss the most when flying in-sim (not that I have tried anything else - yet ::)) is the flight deck ballet of familiar flows. Some say flows and checks are boring, but they have obviously not seen this Norwegian team:

Just wanted to show you this beautiful teamwork. This is why flight sim will never be quite the same as the real deal.

Now, where did I park my aircraft?...  ;D

Cheers,

Nice video.

The Pro Version of the Majestic Dash 8 will have a shared cockpit function so this kind of teamwork will be possible in the sim once released. There are some YouTube videos of the beta version with the shared cockpit in action if you haven't seen them already.

It will be interesting to see how the shared cockpit will work with the Intercity Acars (if at all possible) along with Vatsim too.

Cheers,
Serge

There's no reason shared cockpit wouldn't work with ACARS, but right now it would record you both pilots as being PIC.

In the mean time, there's always FS2Crew Voice. I know it's not quite the same as the video but it does all the FO/PM flows and checklists, and will also assist with operating the switches when you've got your hand's full.

Great Video
To watch the Pilot and Co Pilot work like that, is like poetry in motion. Not a word spoken, or getting into each others way.
It all Flowed smooth and sure.
It looks like they have worked with each other for awhile.
It is amazing to watch them

Thanks for the video
