Post by: Camille Mouchel-Blaisot on Nov 19, 2014 18:34
Hi

Does intercit has an " account on PFPX "  ? where pilots could just log in , select the flight with all the planning being done ?

If not, it good be a nice addition.

Wasnt aware of this feature, if we can find some more information of what they require for us as an airline, we could set something up if its worth while doing.

You can download our schedules for PFPX from here (http://www.viaintercity.com/downloads/PFPX_ICX_1415.zip)

Hi Camille,

PFPX added an online schedule function with version 1.16 however it is still in a trial phase. The developer said they would release more information at a later date however nothing has been communicated as yet.

http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/86402-new-version-116/#entry619735 (http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/86402-new-version-116/#entry619735)

I have noticed that when I login there are several VA's already listed that were not there when version 1.16 was initially released so it appears these VA's are part of the trial or perhaps just requested access which was granted.

I was intending to pursue this for Intercity once the trial was completed and the function fully implemented however if Chris is OK with it I can asked the PFPX developers if it would be possible to allow Intercity to be added to the online schedule during the trial phase.

Regards,
Serge

EDIT: I've sent an email to the developer inquiring about this function and will report back if/when I get a response.

I got a response from the developer and Intercity can utilize this feature if we wish although it should be noted it's still in a trial phase. We will need to provide some details to them though for contact's, login's etc. I will send an email to Chris with the requested details and see if they want to proceed further with this.

Regards,
Serge

I got permission from Chris to look into this further and the PFPX developers have now added ICX to the Login page. I am currently in the process of testing this feature to see what benefits it can bring to Intercity. There is no documentation explaining the online schedule feature however my early findings so far are as follows:
My initial thoughts on this feature is that it appears geared more towards events where you have a dedicated dispatcher who plans the flights (including routes and payloads). The pilots Login, select a prepared flight, and then fly. Due to the limit of 250 flights in the online schedule we cannot add all of Intercity's flights which number over 1000 so this immediately restricts it's use as a daily tool.

So at the moment I recommend we stick to the offline PFPX package available in the downloads section and perhaps look at utilising the online feature if we plan events (even then it may not be worth while depending on how many PFPX users Intercity have). I'll keep looking into this as they may add new functionality in future updates and will report back with any new information.

Cheers,
Serge
