Title: New Recruit
Post by: Ian Robson on Feb 10, 2014 23:18
Hi All,

I've very recently (yesterday) joined this VA after seeing Sean Donno's forum signature over on the CIXVFR forum. I already own the two fleet aircraft add-ons but I've never really got to grips with them in the past. I'm hoping this VA should give me the structure and purpose I need to change that. I'm going to start with the JS4100 and 'work my way up' to the Dash 8, well, that's the plan at present  ;D

Look forward to 'flying' with you all.

Welcome aboard Ian  :) , hopefully you'll have a lot of fun here at Intercity!

When it comes to learning the J41, my advice would be to complete the PMDG supplied tutorial first, otherwise you will be having a lot of engine fires  ;D If you get stuck, you might find the Jetstream 41 FAQ here on the forums (http://viaintercity.com/forums/bae-jetstream-41-%28bae-js4100%29/faq-%28frequently-asked-questions%29-and-tips-for-bae-js4100/) useful, otherwise you can always post a question on the forums as I'm something of a J41 anorak!

Does this mean I have to join CIX?  ::)

Absolutely Chris  ;)
Great group for everything VFR  :)

Do I get a bonus for recruiting people  ;D

I'd love to but running Intercity means I don't really get much time for VFR any more, I use to regularly drag my PA28 around the skies of VATSIM  :(

As a bonus for recruiting someone, here is a smiley face ;D lol! We appreciate everyone's efforts in getting our name known within the community as it's difficult to recruit pilots in such a crowded market place, especially when we're using a fictional moniker.

Ok, First Intercity flight completed in the JS41 tonight and I really enjoyed it.  ;D

I flew offline as I'm still getting up-to-speed with this aircraft, but hopefully I'll be back flying on VATSIM soon.

Ditto with me in the DASH 8  :)
Logged two flights now, both offline, and I'n not going to do a flight on Vatsim until I can nail the approach to EGLC consistently  ;)

That's a good plan Sean. The Dash-8 cockpit can get very busy on approach, especially at LCY, and better be completely comfortable before adding the extra fun of online ATC  :)
