Title: first flight on VATSIM
Post by: Jim Caudell on Mar 28, 2015 21:01
Just finished my first flight on VATSIM. EGPE - EGPH. No contorlers online, communicated UNICOM. Weather was bad at EGPE, but got better towards EGPH.
Not the best of flights, took me a little longer than wanted. FMS and I had a misunderstanding. Will have to discuss more.  :o
Looking forward to more flights on VATSIM

;D

Just checked my flight on VATSIM. It had the times down, but said no flight plan was filed. I am sure I filed it.
I was using Vpilot. Any ideas?

You need to enter all the details then Send it once your connected to the network, if you download VATSPY you can check to see if your listed as a flight if you are then you've files correctly.

Thanks, I think I figured out what it was. I filled it out, but then once Vpilot connected, I didn't file it  >:(  so I guess I was one of those (no flight plan filed) guys.
I will remember that the next time I fly.

Do you mean one of the ones who when you call up for clearance the controller says "You have no flightplan" and you quickly file it so as to not look like a newbie  ;D ;D ;D

Maybe  8) I still think it is my Navigators mistake (Duke, our golden lab, he acts as navigator). I think I uh he has learned his lesson now.
The flight went well, and no other problems, even the passengers liked the little tour around Edinburgh.
