Title: Dispatch System
Post by: Steve Prowse on Aug 12, 2013 06:03

Not sure if you have all seen this new FREEWARE web based flight delivery system yet,  but it is well worth a look:  http://www.simbrief.com    .  I've used it a few times now and it is excellent and will only get better!  It also has VAs in mind they allow full use by VAs worth  a look.

All the best

Steve

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, we will certainly look at it as we have been considering adding a dispatch system to ACARS for some time. But we have to ensure the routes adhere to standard routing rules, otherwise they're not going to work with multiplayer networks, like VATSIM and IVAO, that insist on this. I'll try and look at it later this week but at the moment I am rushed off my feet buying a new car! Once that's sorted my attention is back to aircraft :)

Looks quite good to be honest, if its something of interest to our pilots maybe we could include it as an optional extra so it can be used if desired

Looks promising. What car are you going for Chris?

At the moment I have a MkI Fabia vRS 1.9 TDI PD130, but after 2.5 years trouble free it's had 4 faults in the last 6 months so I figured it's time to get rid. I swore I'd never buy French again after a clapped out Clio I had in 2009 that ate wheel bearings, yet I find myself seeking a Citroen DS3 THP 150 Dsport  Yes, I'm a petrol head!

Has anyone else here used SimBrief? I would like to hear some more thoughts on it.

Just done a sample plan and it has the DH8D, but not the JS41. However you put your own routing into the system which is quite nice! Also formats the plans like real world LIDO ones!

OK, Ive intergrated this with ACARS and it will be released with the next update. Its an "optional extra" in that you can use it if you want but it has no bearing on your flight logging if you dont!

Heres a photo as a teaser for you all!

When I try to run the ACARS updater I get this:

Component 'COMCTL32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

Any ideas what may be the cause?

Hi Jim

Not quite sure why your getting an error but in the meantime you can update manually by downloading acars from the download library here in the forum

Well since my first post on simbrief I think it has just got better and better....and I must say the addition you've made Chris to the ACAR is great.  I would also say that I've found this VA to be really well run and an ops system second to none I've seen it is a huge credit to all of you involved with its development. I love it here and hope to increase my own involvement.

Cheers
