Title: Dash ceiling
Post by: Gert Visser on Jan 01, 2016 07:37
Hi all,
I am afraid that the safety record of our airline is at stake.
I have been reading some flight logs of flights.
I am allways interested how other people fare.
But I discovered some reports of the Dash-8 happily cruising at fl360!!!
I thought turboprops couldnt operate at that height.....
Maybe some lines in the dash SOP?
Or something in the flight log software blocking ( in the sake of safety) flights higher than fl260??

Gert

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Gert, we became aware a while ago, monitored the situation across the airline and are implementing measures to prevent it happening again.

The Q400 SOP already states max cruise altitude of FL250 (you can only go to FL270 if you have passenger oxygen masks and most Q400s don't).
