Title: Dash-8 QRH
Post by: Gert Visser on Dec 23, 2015 17:18
Hi all,
does somebody have a pdf of a dash QRH?
I inadvertently set the condition levers to min, and afterwards the rpm stayed at 1020. In the pilot manual
there was a reference to a special checklist to be used in this case.
Maybe somebody can help??

If you accidentally pull the condition levers below MIN whilst flying, it may cause a Propeller Electronic Control (PEC) failure and the props will then sit on the OverSpeed Governor (OSG) at 1060 rpm. QRH requires you to divert and have the aircraft inspected. An engine shutdown will clear the fault.

In the sim the fix is to quickly pop the condition levers to shut off, then quickly move them back to full before the engine turns off and that usually resets the PECs and gives me propeller RPM control back - but of course this is a bit Russian roulettey as you might accidentally turn the engines off altogether!

Section 3 of http://viaintercity.com/forums/discounts/q400-flight-operations-manual/ (http://viaintercity.com/forums/discounts/q400-flight-operations-manual/) is effectively an expanded QRH, your specific issue is 3.5.4. I don't have the actual QRH to hand, sorry.
