Title: flight log ready for sending whilst on rw
Post by: Keith Giannoni on Jun 09, 2014 13:21
Hi,

For info flew into Dortmund. As soon as I had touched down and started to reduce speed, the audio bell sounded confirming I had completed the flight and was disembarking. I had not arrived on stand and shut down. Flight recorded just fine. To date, when I have used our ACARS the flight log could not be sent until on stand etc. For your info.

Very odd, starting to wonder if there might be a minor incompatibility between IVAP and ACARS (since not many of us fly on IVAO at present) or maybe it's another addon or even a hardware throttle issue; ACARS registers on blocks when it thinks you're on the ground with your engines off, for some reason it must have detected your engines were off before you'd landed. If this issue keeps flaring up we'll investigate further.

Just a thought. I had a problem with acars not recognising engine start the other day. On a second flight I had to use ctrl shift f1 to fool GSX otherwise it thinks the dash engines are running. In this case acars worked flawlessly. Wondered if this has an effect or just luck?

It could do; the Majestic Q400 only started reporting engine state information we could use in v1.009 and despite that update, sometimes there is lag of up to several minutes between shutting its engines down and it updating the variables to reflecting that! Ctrl Shift F1 might cause the variables we read to re-sync, I know that switching to default aircraft also has this effect. I should add this would only affect the Majestic Q400, as the J41 uses FSX's flight dynamics engine so it should register engines on/off immediately.

Ran the update but still showed and sounded  on blocks when I touched down at Stavanger this morning. Really not a problem as ACARS tracked the flight well.
