Acars troubles [Solved]

ACARS is giving me some trouble.  I cannot for the life of me get it to "update and then run".  I have tried running as an administrator both through running ACARS and just the updater.exe files.  Nothing seems to work, I've even found the "apphang" messages in windows event viewer.
Here is what I've found: - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event">   - <System>    <Provider Name="Application Hang" />    <EventID Qualifiers="0">1002</EventID>    <Level>2</Level>    <Task>101</Task>    <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords>    <TimeCreated SystemTime="2015-11-29T02:35:13.000000000Z" />    <EventRecordID>18695</EventRecordID>    <Channel>Application</Channel>    <Computer>MIKE</Computer>    <Security />  </System>  - <EventData>    <Data>update.exe</Data>    <Data>1.0.0.0</Data>    <Data>a44</Data>    <Data>01d12a4a1476f7d9</Data>    <Data>734</Data>    <Data>C:\Intercity ACARS\update.exe</Data>    <Data>cd37355c-9641-11e5-bee8-f065dd645720</Data>    <Data />    <Data />    <Binary>55006E006B006E006F0077006E0000000000</Binary>  </EventData> </Event> Any clues?  I'd really like to start flying with InterCity again, I'm out of ideas though at this point.

Hi Michael

Not sure what's happened, I assume you have the latest .Net Framework installed? I will PM you a link to the latest ACARS.exe you can download and replace the one you have which should solve the issue for now. We are currently reviewing the updater and looking to update it within the near future to solve a few issues other members have been having.
Thanks
Chris

We've found some anti-virus software can block the auto-updater, although it's usually obvious when this happens as you generally get a pop-up warning.

Generally it is considered good practice to temporarily disable your anti-virus whilst playing any demanding games or editing videos, as it improves loading times. If you want to be sure, add the Intercity ACARS folder to your anti-virus's exclusion list.

Gents,
I got ACARS working again. I believe the trouble lay with my AVAST! Antivirus.  Anyway, back in the air today with Intercity.  Flew from Prestwick to Exeter today.  Thanks for the help!
