Title: ACARS Resume after FSX Crash?
Post by: Graham Woodley on May 04, 2014 12:44
Had FSX crash today while on 546 EIDW-EGLC.
Resumed the flight OK from FSXSave, but ACARS stuck.
After the flight resumed it still said 'Active' and connected, but the Last Posn Update and FS Clock Time were stuck and the ACARS map wasn't updating.
No option after landing but to quit it.
I'm not bothered about the flight, I can fly it again tomorrow, but I'm not sure of the procedure to nudge ACARS back into life after a FSX crash resume.

Did you leave ACARS open, or did you quit and relaunch?
If you give us the details takeoff time, landing time, flight number we can file the flight for you

I left it open Chris.
I was wondering afterwards if I should have quit it and restarted, but I was further downroute then and it probably wouldn't have picked it up.
Is an ACARS restart the approved method?
I can't remember the times now, but it's OK, I'll fly it again tomorrow.

If you loose connection to FS then ACARS wont reconnect once the flight sim connection has been lost. In order to sort this you need to close ACARS and then re-open it and use the Resume Flight feature. It will then tell you where to position your aircraft, it has allowances to account for the time between saving flights using the autosave program :)
Like I said before if you have the details Ill more than happily file the report for you
