Title: Acars 2
Post by: Colin Ray on Apr 26, 2014 16:28
Hi

I have installed ACARS2 however it is stuck updating.  I have started the program and it is saying checking for updates, it has been like this for 1 hour.  Any ideas.

Thanks

Colin

Did you remove the original Intercity ACARS from your PC first? We've not pushed out any ACARS2 updates yet so what you downloaded and installed is the latest version that everyone is using.

In any event, close ACARS and try it again, perhaps it's just a blip.

If that doesn't work, clear your Internet Explorer cache (details here (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/260897)).

Thanks Chris, I have uninstalled the old one and this is the third attempt at loading the new one.  I guess I have a problem this end as everyone else seems to have no issues.  I will search the computer for all versions delete and try again.

Thanks

Hi Colin

ACARS should be in C:\Program Files\Intercity ACARS (or something like that) it shouldnt need to update if you have downloaded the new version from the website as this is the current version and so updates have been released?

Before it checks for updates it should display the version number could you confirm what version yours is showing?

Hi

I have deleted anything to do with ACARS, installed again and get same issue, please see screen shot attached.

It is probably user interface error, however your assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ouch, bad times!

Details here (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/260897) on how to clear your Internet Explorer caché, see if this fixes it.

Hi Colin

For now if you just fly and send us the details of your flights we can log them manually, whilst we work on fixing his issue for you. I will send you a pm with some further steps we can try!
