Title: Online callsign
Post by: Jan Naslund on Oct 25, 2019 16:22
Hi everyone,

I do all my flights on VATSIM but i know others fly on IVAO as well and i am curious to what our online callsign is.

I use Intercity followed by the number when on voice but a lot of controllers call me "insex". Like insex388 turn left hdg xxx.

Is there any policy on this or can i also use Insex? I rolls better off the tounge and is not so disruptive when it's busy online.

Best Regards / Jan

This comes up periodically because IVAO insist on keeping "Intex" in their database against ICX, which hasn't existed since 1994 (we've existed longer than they did)! Easiest way around this is to put a flightplan comment of OPR/INTERCITY or CS/INTERCITY

Most of the other three letter ICAOs I considered were still in use at the time Intercity commenced operations

Hi,

Yes i write Call Intercity in my flightplan comments. Seems that it's working. More controllers use Intercity now :)

Best regards / Jan
