Two pieces of exciting news have been released in the last few days, regarding addon aircraft for FSX:
- Flight Sim Labs (FSL) have started recruiting beta testers for their A320, which means it can't be all that far from release. I expect the FSL A320 will usurp the Aerosoft A320 X as the bus of choice in FSX. - Carenado have announced their Hawker 850XP is delayed. This doesn't sound like good news until you hear the reason why; they're implementing AIRAC (Navigraph) based Proline21 avionics and FMS! Their previously released Phenom 100 seems to have sold well and was undeniably pretty but there were endless complaints about the lacklustre FMS (which was based off the internal FSX nav database with no support for SIDs/STARs and not updateable).
If they implement the avionics well, I can see it becoming the new business jet benchmark (a role that Eaglesoft's Citation X has held for a long time)! There is the potential that Intercity could get
both of these jets :) After all, Ryanair have a Learjet 45 they use to shuttle crew, mechanics and parts to stranded aircraft (M-ABEU for those of you that want to Google).
Hello Chris,
I look forward to the new Carenado Hawker if they add functional FMS! Don't forget their products work in FSX and P3d!
Also, look forward to the FSL A320. But I don't know if it will displace the Aersoft A320 per se as many people have expected.
Aerosoft has made great strides in improving the A320. They have added more in depth features (check out their forum) and will
relsase a small expansion pack. Don't forget the Aersoft product already has good FS2Crew support and everything works in P3D.
Not to mention the upcoming Aerosoft A318/A319 baby bus. To me, the A318 would be a perfect fit for Intercity or the new CRJ that
Aerosoft will eventually release.
Anyway, we have a lot to look forward to, and the more choices the better! :D
