Today, Embraer rolled out its second generation (E2) E-jets. All the similar size except E195-E2 which will seat over 140, pitting it against the 73G and A319. They rekon fuel burn will be 15% down on the original E-jets, mainly thanks to new (and huge) Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan (GTF) engines and aerodynamic improvements. Avionics are broadly similar although it's now full fly-by-wire (FBW).

Of course it's biggest rival will be Bombardiers Cseries (although this appears to be in financial difficulty right now) and Mitsubishi's MRJ. I think we can probably discount the COMAC ARJ21, Sukhoi SSJ and Antonov An-158 as low volume products that will only compete in their domestic markets.

First flight is expected Q3/Q4 2016 and Entry Into Service (EIS) beginning at the Q1/Q2 2018, which puts it behind the Cseries, MRJ, A320 NEO and 737 MAX, all of which are using similar P&W GTF engines.
