Intercity serve Zurich (LSZH) from London City and Dusseldorf, but I can add charter flights for other airports (within 600 nm of LSZH) if you let me know in advance. There's quite a few flight numbers to choose from, just make sure someone else isn't already using it! You can book your slots by clicking the photo at the end of this post, then post in this thread to let us know you're going  :)

We are officially registered for this event, please add VAM/2L56H78L in your VATSIM flightplan comments.

QuoteSince 2007, this yearly event has become tradition and we are happy to offer you fully staffed airports again this year. But not only Swiss controllers will be online. Our neighbours will support us to manage the massive traffic as well. Additionally, we will present you a few partner airports you can fly to so that you can expect full ATC coverage over the heart of Europe.

The challenge for you and your VA is to bring as many pilots as possible to Zurich. Last year, the winners counted nine successful flights each to/from Zurich. Can your VA beat this? If you would like to experience a congested airspace over Zurich, make sure your VA participates in this huge event. We will find an appropriate gate or stand for each of you at Switzerland's busiest airport.

Please notice that all traffic in Zurich needs slots during the event (except VFR).

I'm very disappointed as I am unable to attend because of a prior engagement (someone I know is ageing a bit more), so you won't be hearing me on comms :( However it's great to hear that Sean and Graham will be representing us and hopefully a few more of us may be able to make it.

Here's a link to the pilot briefing PDF that Zurich VACC have just e-mailed to me:

Thanks for representing Intercity chaps, the official statistics are available here:

It was a pleasure :)

I left Sean on the ramp at Zurich struggling with his comms :-\

It was a bit mad, but very well controlled and the Dash 8 cockpit gets very busy when dealing with live comms as well as everything else - still good that I still get sweaty palms flying on Vatsim sometimes :)

Was definitely easier departing than arriving :) I heard lots of people going into holds, which seemed to take a few by surprise - plenty of 'Say agains' and the controllers did a great job on staying cool, as always.

I love it when its like that, the atmosphere is fantastically immersive and feel you've really achieved something :) Probably not a good environment for beginners though! We'll try and organise a few more "fly-ins" in future and hopefully I'll be able to attend those.

I was gutted to not be able to complete this, but had network issues. I did disconnect and try several other servers, but to no avail  :(

I had even done a practise departure earlier in the day to double check on timings and routing, and that went perfectly!
