I put this in a couple of weeks ago, and I have to say after about a dozen flights....Fantastic improvement. Especially the engines when you go to max on the conditioners. What a difference. In my opinion, this is a "gotta have" . If you want to improve you Q400 experience run and get this one!

I'm happy with it. Not a bad price either!

Definitely a good shout! Much nicer than the included sounds especially like the rattles on takeoff!

I tried it and whilst it's nice I'm not sure it's a £17 improvement. It's not as if though it's the included sounds are awful, I noticed the biggest improvement externally where there's a lot more prop noise. Perhaps I'm just tighter than everyone else?  ;D

Hello All,
It's good that there are some positive comments re Immersive and the Q400.
However as I really cant see much of an improvement in my Pilot Q400 sounds - but perhaps I have got some sound settings all wrong.
I think I have installed it OK - not within FSX folder as per instructions, overwritten default sound file etc.
Can anyone advise please what 'tweaking' they had to do and where ? Eg the .ini file.
And what about FSX sound settings - I have assumed that they are no longer relevant - or have I got that wrong ?
Presumably the W7 sound settings are not touched.

Just a bit of extra info.
In spite of following the Immersive recommendation re amending the .ini file I am still 'drowned out' by engine noise - even from inside the cockpit - to the point of not being able to hear a single 'click' from a switch.
I really must have done something wrong given the previously posted positive comments !
Help please.

Thanks,

You just need to replace the Sound folder in SimObjects\Airplanes\mjc8q400 with the immersion one. No need to tweak anything?

Mike Ody (1594)

Thanks Chris, but that is about all I did with the exception of editing the mjc84.ini file as recommended in the install notes vis changing engine sounds 50,50,75 down to 50,30,75. in an effort to reduce engine noise in the cockpit.
I installed the Immersion 'soundpack' as D:\Immersive Audio\MJC8 Q400 Cockpit Sound Immersion v1.1
so it sits alongside [but not within] D:\FSX.
OS is on C:\.
I have assumed the FSX sound settings mean nothing as they dont seem to make any difference if I change them.
Am using Realtek HD Audio.
Thats about all I can say.
If that sounds OK to you then I will do yet another re-install tomorrow [as administrator],
Thanks again,
Mike Ody

PERMISSIONS !!!!
It seems my Q400 sound folder did NOT have permissions to 'Modify'.
So when I copied over the Immersive sound folder it left many of the original sound files untouched.
Silly me.
Thanks everyone - I shall now retire to eat humble pie.

Glad its all sorted! Enjoy!

Mike Ody (1594)

But not quite all sorted it seems.
When I start an engine I am hearing the engine start to spin but immediately I move lever to 'start and feather' on that engine I lose all engine sounds !
I dont have much hair left to pull out.
Any thoughts ?

Sorry, ignore my last post - fixed it.
