Hi guys,

Anyone got some tips for flying the JS4100 into London City?

I just completed a flight into there with the JS4100 and it was difficult to slow down. I was well setup prior to hitting the GS on the ILS for runway 27 (flaps 25, gear down and speed at just above vref - about 110 knots, condition levers 100%) but as I travelled down the GS it quickly accelerated to the 130's.  I got it slowed down a bit at the flare however the result was a rather hard landing. I'm not sure what I could have done different to get the speed down.

Cheers,
Serge

You've done pretty much all you can already, get the aircraft at Vref+5 or +10 knots in the landing configuration before you start descending on the glideslope. Other than that it's just practise, takes a while to get the flare right!

Yep, this approach in this aircraft definitely requires some practice. Next time I'll disconnect the autopilot sooner (or maybe not use it at all) and work on the flare.

Cheers,
Serge
