Title: Aerosoft A320 Professional
Post by: Chris Liu on Feb 05, 2018 14:51
So you may have heard Aerosoft has been working on a major overhaul of their A320 product for P3Dv4 (with 32 bit versions possibly coming later) "Around 60% of the modeling and textures are new and more then 75% of the code is new" and there will be discounted upgrade pricing for existing customers.

They have now posted more details about their release plans at http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/127623-aerosoft-a318a319a320a321a330-professional-preview-part-4/&page=75&tab=comments#comment-864196 (http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/127623-aerosoft-a318a319a320a321a330-professional-preview-part-4/&page=75&tab=comments#comment-864196) although have yet to set a date and I'm unclear as to how far progressed the project is.

QuoteFrom this moment on I will try to give a daily update on things our dev team has done.

We took the plunge and moved the fonts to the simfolder. In principle this should have worked since P3d V3 but it always had issues. Now we think it is save. The big advantage is that the complete product is now in just two folder, the A318/A319 folder and a shared folder for all our bus products that has things like the company routes, nav data. Installing is now as easy as just copying the files. No more reboot to activate fonts etc.
Stefan spend the day updating the VC textures so they will work with the new RealLight/TrueGlass modules. These allow compression so the extreme demands on Graphics Memory are reduced to an acceptable level. This makes 3 Gb graphics cards feasible and removes a massive headache from me.
Robert, Frank and Baylan (the people working on the systems, navigation etc) kept on working the showstopper and critical bugs. A few were closed. Others discussed. In this stage making sure they all know what they are doing continuously is super important.
We are planning a hackathon in the last week before release where we will focus on the simple and stupid issues, goal is to close at least 50 of them in 18 hours.
One of our main advisory pilots did a test flight yesterday and made a video of the whole flights. He did not make things easy with a flight plan that had discontinuous elements he solved by going direct as is common on European airspace these days. Lot of new information to process but surprisingly no new bugs. The first stage to get to release is to make sure you get no new bugs!
We added a new very experienced new pilot to our internal Skype group. This is very valuable as we need information and confirmation on issues at least 20 times a day. if we have that on hand it speeds up things a lot.
I am pretty pissed off about some of the silly comments I read online since our news yesterday. I should not be, but I am. Things like that we are speeding things up to beat FSL's A319 release. Honestly I did not even know they were close to release and if I did it would have played no role. If a customer wants to buy that product at that price from that company they should. We are not in competition as the focus of the products is totally different. They do stuff we don't, we do stuff they do not do. I think a lot depends on who you want to give your money to.
We got a lot of bugs fixed reports from Rolf on the checklists items I will check myself tomorrow.

18:30, our German devs are closing down after a 11 hour day, Baylan is getting breakfast and will start on tweaks to the TO, CLB, CRZ, DES pages.  Some testers will check some bugs.

The Aerosoft Airbus A319 Professional releases tomorrow for P3Dv4.3. There are several outstanding issues to be fixed with the first Service Pack which are listed at http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/133133-whats-not-available-whats-wrong/ (http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/133133-whats-not-available-whats-wrong/) and I recommend you read before purchasing. I'm somewhat unclear when Aerosoft expect to get their SP1 out, it seems somewhere they guesstimate between 4 and 9 weeks after release.

Bundle The bundle pack of A318/A319 + A320/A321 will grant you immediate access to the A318/A319, with the rest to follow upon release in estimated 4-6 weeks.

Discount As mentioned previously there is a discount available to owners upgrading from a previous Airbus X/Extended package. Aerosoft have advised there will be a 20% virtual airline discount too that will be available to Intercity pilots, although they haven't said when and you cannot use this in conjunction with an upgrade discount.

QuoteIf you have no previous products:
Aerosoft A318/A319 Professional 50.38 Euro (plus EU VAT when applicable)
Aerosoft A320/A321 Professional 50.38 Euro (plus EU VAT when applicable)
Bundle 67.18 Euro (plus EU VAT when applicable)

If you have either the current A318/A319 or A320/A321:
Aerosoft A318/A319 Professional 25.17 Euro (plus EU VAT when applicable)
Aerosoft A320/A321 Professional 25.17 Euro (plus EU VAT when applicable)

If you own either the new A318/A319 or A320/A321 and want the A318/A319 or A320/A321:
Aerosoft A318/A319 Professional 25.17 Euro (plus EU VAT when applicable)
Aerosoft A320/A321 Professional 25.17 Euro (plus EU VAT when applicable)

If you own the current bundle:
Bundle 33.57 Euro (plus EU VAT when applicable)
The bundle will be made available a few days after the A318/A319 for new users and people that update. This delay is for administrative reasons. If you did not buy the bundle you can not use the bundle update.

It doesn't matter where you bought the product, except if you bought it on STEAM. Unfortunately STEAM version are not eligible for updates outside STEAM. We are not the publisher for that release, if there ever might be a new version on STEAM we can discuss it with Dovetails.

The A320/A321 will initially NOT be available but is expected to be released within 5 or 6 weeks of the release of the A318/A319

I strongly recommend you read this before buying: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/forum/881-whats-not-completed-what-are-we-working-on/ (http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/forum/881-whats-not-completed-what-are-we-working-on/)

All the busses will be made available via the Virtual Airline program (with 20% discount) but not in combination with other discounts or reduced update prices. This is a limitation of our shop system.

I've now updated both the A319 and A320 Aerosoft livery packages so they are compatible with the Professional P3D x64 versions out the box, you don't need to follow the instructions above any more. However, as I don't currently own the Pro versions I have been unable to test the changes I made, so please advise me here if you get any issues or spot any errors.
