Title: Aerosoft fly-by-wire (FBW) mod
Post by: Chris Liu on Aug 22, 2016 10:28
Recently a modified FBW & FDE for the Aerosoft Airbus has been doing the rounds, I know little of its background or author, but it's getting positive reports of improving the hand flying characteristics. If anyone has tried it, it would be good to hear how you got on with it.

I always found the Aerosoft Airbus FBW a bit sluggish, like the sidestick was sending commands to the control surfaces by carrier pigeon!

You can find the mod at http://www.avsim.com/topic/493425-airbus-fbw-fix/#entry3469803  (http://www.avsim.com/topic/493425-airbus-fbw-fix/#entry3469803)and an update at http://www.avsim.com/topic/493425-airbus-fbw-fix/page-2#entry3469851 (http://www.avsim.com/topic/493425-airbus-fbw-fix/page-2#entry3469851) although at this time we do not endorse it and you use it at your own risk.

Tried and tested!

Works fine, had to use the high end settings, even though I only have a cheap sidestick. Seems a lot smoother and doesn't bob around on the approach which was one of my previous gripes with the AS bus.

Would recommend it to all of our Airbus Captains!

On a side note, I havent flown hand circuits in an Airbus in a long time...think I need some more practice!
