Title: ACARS Update - Manual Off/On Blocks buttons
Post by: Chris Hulme on May 30, 2014 14:46
After some feedback regarding the new ACARS it seems that some users are still having issues. We believe that this is caused by pilots not running the latest version of the Majestic Q400 (1.09). So whilst people update their copies of the Q400 we have introduced a manual on/off blocks button.

On the flight page at the bottom right there is a check box (this also appears on the flight resume page) Ticking this box will show the Off/On Blocks buttons on the flight logger screen. I would suggest only using this if you have tried to use ACARS normally and it doesnt change from Boarding to Departing when starting your engines.

Chris,
ACARS works fine for me and my Dash version is still 1.00802b in FSX.
Perhaps it's a P3D problem?

Thanks Graham,

Im not sure I thought it might be to do with the update as we can now access one of the engine parameters though FSUIPC. But either way, this provides functionality for anyone who cant get it working for whatever reason!

Hi,

Just bought the PMDG Jetstream and have been test flying! I tried to fly two routes but on both occasions, even with engines off brakes on I could not get the tracker to begin. When I resumed, it advised I was either not within 40nms etc. I seem to be stuck into at least one plan even if I quit it still seems to cling on!! Can you advise as I have obviously done something wrong!!

Best,

Keith

PS Fine with Dash

Not sure why that's happening Keith as I've been using the J41 with our ACARS ever since we first opened. If the problem persists, switch to using manual off/on blocks as Chris detailed at the top of this topic.

BTW it is not possible to resume a flight that hasn't taken off, you have to start a new flight within ACARS (i.e. search for the flight, tick it, click begin)

Thanks, Chris. I'll give it a go. Down to me I'm sure. Good offer as highlighted by PMDG! Got me!

Hi Guys,

Flew the 356 BHX-BHD and had the issue with ACARS not recording. Have just seen the manual workaround on/off blocks post but lost my flight :(

Off 19:23 on 20:30

I'll file it for you in about an hour when it appears on the incomplete flight list. Just don't start a new flight in the mean time otherwise the data is lost.

Can't seem to find any record of it Ben so don't worry about flying again. I'll do a manual submission of it later.
