Title: ACARS on networked computer
Post by: Justin Friedland on Jul 04, 2013 15:00

Is it possible to run Intercity ACARS on a second, networked  computer?

We've never tested this, but theoretically it is possible by using WideFS/WideClient. If you are pursuing the WideFS route we'd be very interested to hear how you get on.

However, there would be little benefit running Intercity ACARS on a remote machine as the performance overhead of it is so small as to be negligble on modern hardware.

I'm sure our venerable programmer Mr H will chime in shortly and correct me

Yes it should work 100% using WideFS so long as its setup correctly. WideFS creates a bridge between FS and the networked machine so that theoretically any FSUIPC addon will work. I can test it at some point but you might beat me to it as im back at work tomorrow! Do let us know how you get on though

Works perfectly with WideFS and registered FSUIPC.  Thanks.  Looking forward to flying with your airline.
