Title: Acars issues with 20180531 [Solved]
Post by: Gerald Plotts on Jun 01, 2018 12:49
Good morning guys. Just started my first flight of the month, and I saw an update to the acars program to 20180531. As I prepped my Dash8 for ICX22B and started engines, I saw right away that the acars was not working correctly. The familiar bing-bong didn't happen on engine 2 startup and I looked at the acars program (Which as always is running on a separate laptop via widefs) was saying to "ensure that you are in an intercity aircraft". I made sure I had my intercity Q400 loaded by looking at the exterior...yep there it is. So, there is an apparent issue with the q400 and this version. Filed my report for this flight via contact e-mail.

Hi Jerry

I'll manually file for you, however nothing was changed in this version for on/off blocks detection. Only change was to Simbrief?

Which model were you flying?

Chris

Using the same one that I've been flying all along - MJC8Q400_ICX from the download.

Uninstalled and re-installed the acars program, getting the same message of "use an intercity aircraft". Tried on two computers getting the same result. Worked fine yesterday. Is it just me?

Confirmed on my end as well. Flying the "usual" Dash-8 and the "Please ensure ..." message in ACARS. P3D v4.2, FSUIPC 5124. Route is LFPG-EGLC.

I tried again with flight ICX22C EPKK-EDDL and no joy. Got the same results with the acars. No bing-bong, no connection to FSX, no on/off blocks button, and cockpit stus shows inactive. I did notice that the cursor when placed over  the acars app, was spinning as if it was waiting for something, but unable to find what it needed. Conclusion, able to flight but not to track/report.

HI Guys

Not sure whats happened as I updated only the code for the SimBrief, I've just dropped an update which removes the aircraft check for now until I can properly sort this out!
